2/19/2023 0 Comments All music keys chart![]() If some keys are easier for you to play in than others, you may want to check to make sure the key you choose has "nice" chords. Notice that, since you're going in a circle, raising the music a lot eventually gives the same chords as lowering it a little (and vice-versa). The further you go, the more it will change. If you want it lower, go in the counterclockwise direction. If you want the music to sound higher, go around the chromatic circle in the clockwise direction. If you are transposing because the music is too low or too high, decide how much higher or lower you want the music to sound. You may find more opportunities to play (and earn the gratitude of your fellow musicians) if you can say, "we can change keys if you like", or "I can cover that bass clef C part for you, no problem." Or, if you play a transposing instrument, work on being able to play C parts on sight. Practice playing in an unfamiliar clef, for example bass clef if you are used to reading treble clef. When this is easy, move on to more challenging keys and larger intervals. Start with pieces written in C, and play them only a half step or whole step lower or higher than written. Since you know the piece, you will recognize when you make a mistake. (Vocalists transpose at sight without even thinking about it, since they don't have to worry about different fingerings.) To practice this skill, simply start playing familiar pieces in a different key. Like any other performance skill, it can be learned with practice, and it is a skill that will help you become an extremely versatile instrumentalist. Transposing at sight means being able to read a part written in one key while playing it in another key. To turn a B flat part into an E flat part (B flat to E flat = down a perfect fifth), transpose the part up a perfect fifth.ĭo the correct transposition by interval, including changing the written key by the correct interval. To turn a B flat part into a C part (B flat to C = up one step), transpose the part down one whole step. To compensate properly, always transpose by moving in the opposite direction from the change in the part names. This may seem counterintuitive, but remember, you are basically compensating for the transposition that is "built into" the instrument. If you have a C part and want it to become a B flat part, for example, you must transpose up one whole step. Make sure you are transposing in the correct direction. The difference between an E flat part and a B flat part is a perfect fifth. For example, the difference between a C and a B flat part is one whole step. The written key signature has nothing to do with the type of part you have only the part's transposition from concert pitch (C part) matters for this step.įind the interval between the two types of part. ![]() To Decide Transpositions for Transposing InstrumentsĪsk: what type of part am I transposing and what type of part do I want? Do you have a C part and want to turn it into an F part? Do you want to turn a B flat part into a C part? Non-transposing parts are considered to be C parts. ![]() 2/19/2023 0 Comments Paul weller guitar![]() ![]() How do you and Cradock divide guitar duties in the studio? I know Steve White - your longtime drummer, starting with your Style Council days - isn't around anymore, but Ocean Colour Scene guitarist Steve Cradock is still in your band and is featured heavily on Sonik Kicks. We tried as much as we could to keep the sound warm and not too digitized, trying to keep that depth and warmth. So it’s a mix of technology and old-school playing, all done on Pro Tools. In some cases, we recorded loops with drum machines, but we replaced them with real drums. There are some loops and samples, but generally speaking, it’s pretty much all live playing. How were the rhythm tracks on the new album recorded? I was trying to kind of incorporate some of that into pop music, really. ![]() I was just interested in the textures some of that music made. Things even going back to the late 1930s and ‘40s. I’ve been listening to a lot of early electronic works, I guess it's loosely avant garde stuff, if you can call it that. ![]() What was the inspiration for the album's electronic sound? So it’s a very exciting time for me right now. ![]() And I’m very, very open to experimenting with different people and trying to find different methods of writing and making music. I just think there are endless possibilities musically, really. I don’t think about what I can’t do or what I shouldn’t be doing. I think that actually started with the 22 Dreams album from 2008, which is now two albums back. Sonik Kicks sounds more electronic than anything you've ever done does it mark the start of a new phase for you? ĭuring your solo career - in fact, during The Jam’s timeline as well - there's been the theme of change from album to album, tied to the phases of your musical evolution. Is life any different with those two newcomers in the picture? GUITAR WORLD: First of all, congrats on the twins. We caught up with Weller - who has a new set of twins, a new line of high-end clothing (opens in new tab) and a new album, of course - earlier this week. Weller is, again, pushing his personal envelope. via Yep Roc Records, Weller continues on his courageous, exploratory course, serving up a disc full of electronic sonic excursions peppered with jazz-soul-reggae grooves, backwards guitars, swathes of whining synths and other effects. With his new album, Sonik Kicks, which will be released March 27 in the U.S. Weller's knack for experimentation peaked with 2008's cinematic 22 Dreams and 2010's jagged Wake Up the Nation. One of his most famous single on his solo carrier is " You Do Something To Me" .Enter solo Paul Weller, an artist whose sound has undergone vast twists and turns over the course of 10 critically acclaimed albums, including the modern classics Wild Wood and Stanley Road. Many of his songs with the Jam had lyrics about working class life. He was the principal figure of the 1970s and 1980s mod revival, often referred to as "The Modfather", and an influence on Britpop bands such as Oasis. He had further success with the blue-eyed soul music of the Style Council (1983–1989), before establishing himself as a solo artist with his eponymous 1992 album.ĭespite widespread critical recognition as a singer, lyricist, and guitarist, Weller has remained a national, rather than international, star and much of his songwriting is rooted in English society. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock/new wave/mod revival band The Jam. The two usually have a lot of fun as they go about it, Tommy jokingly shoving Grian off the platform only for his adopted brother to catch himself and fly up to join him on the narrow platform spanning the emptiness once again. ![]() After that, there's just enough time to complete an order or two and collect more cobble and dirt before he has to meet up with Grian to go on their biweekly End Busting session. They both agree that spider eyes taste a lot like sour boba.) From there it's off to the shopping district to restock his dirt shop and claim his share of the profits from the hole-digging service he runs with Grian. ![]() He's always up early and half the time, asks to try a bite of whatever Tommy is having. ![]() He begins his day with a slice of sweet melon and then flies off to whatever hermits are awake at the time to "share a meal with them." Really, it started as an excuse to make sure that Tommy was eating at least one meal day, even in his most dissociative of states, but has since turned into an opportunity to eat weird things in front of people to see their reactions. He especially fears asking about the perma-death clause that seems to naturally have occurred in his code. Tommy, on his part, has no clue that Evil X is an actual person and not a voice in his head, while Evil X can't bring himself to ask why Tommy has left a trail of code in the void and why it's all so glitched. It helps that neither of them are inclined to ask too many questions. For Tommy, this is a chance to vent to someone who seems to understand his pain. From Evil X's perspective, this is the first time someone has actually listened to him and hasn't been turned away by his violent streak, his bad manners, and lack of proper social skills. It's rough going, at first, especially since both of them have abrasive personalities, but eventually they settle into a rough estimation of friendship that means more to them then they are willing to say. And he does something that no one else does when Evil X reaches out- he starts talking back. This time, Tommy knows that it isn't his imagination, but half of his old server seemed to have voices in their heads so he really isn't all that alarmed that he seemed to have developed one of his own too. No one on the server can truly understand just what sort of stuff he has been through, and so he often finds himself alone, trying to deal with his wildest emotions by talking to himself. But for all that he's healing, such a process isn't linear. He goes pranking with his newest, winged older brother figure, laughs at the antics of Impulse, Tango, and Zedaph, builds a cobblestone tower with BDubs, etc. On Tommy's end, he slowly begins to heal from his time spent in the war zone that is the Dream SMP, making fast friends with Grian and several of the other hermits in the process. This is Tommy, and while he begins to get adjusted to Hermitcraft and company, Evil X watches as the string of code begins to imprint itself into the void, and eventually learns that he can interact with it, albeit only on the most superficial of levels. One day, he sees something get shot through the void as if by slingshot, leaving a trail of code in its wake, tethering the whatever it is back the way it came. He misses daylight, he misses touch, he misses hearing voices other than his own. Evil X is stuck in the void, alone and with no one to talk to. ![]() 2/19/2023 0 Comments Google web designer version![]() If you’re feeling more hands-on, all the code behind your designs is hand-editable, so you’re never locked out of your own work. I grew up in Tucson in the 50’s and 60’s and we would go to our grandmother’s every week for Sunday dinner. You did a fine job in making your carne seca. My grandmother, who no longer is living, used to make carne machaca, which is the carne seca. I cut the patinho into steaks about 3cm (1 inch) thick and then covered all sides of the meat with a very coarse salt that is used for barbecues ( sal grosso). It is a lean cut, sold at a mid-range price. In English this cut is called Beef Knuckle or Sirloin Tip. I chose a cut of beef that Brazilians call patinho (sounds like ‘patch-EE-nyo’). How hard can it be? Well, it turns out that it’s actually fairly simple. So, I’m living in a fairly hot, fairly dry region and I love Carne Seca – it occurred to me the other day that I could probably have a go at making it myself. Generally they are soaked to remove the salt, then stewed or shredded and the end results are seriously tasty! But what the hell – in all cases we’re talking about meat that has been dried and salted to some extent or another. To confuse matters more, some people also use the term jabá to refer to carne seca. Some people use the words Carne Seca and Charque interchangeably, while others say that Charque has a higher salt content and therefore should be treated as a different thing entirely. As you can see on faces of my friends, we weren’t exactly filled with a desire to eat the stuff. The first time I saw carne seca I was in Bolivia and the meat was drying on a washing line next to laundry. ![]() When it is ready to be used, the carne de sol is soaked in water for a few hours to reduce the levels of salt – then it is ready to be fried or stewed and used in a variety of classic Northeastern recipes. The end result is meat with a dry, salty surface that protects the soft, succulent interior – the meat doesn’t require refrigeration and will keep for weeks. Originally the drying process was carried out in the sun (hence then name ‘carne de sol’, which translates literally as ‘Sun Meat’), but today it is more commonly dried in a covered location as the drying process is driven mostly by exposure to wind and low humidity rather than sunshine. Meat (usually beef) is salted and then dried over the space of a couple of days. Not all the accounts I have found agree, but I will try to explain the differences between the main types.Īlso known as Jabá, this is a speciality of Northeastern Brazil – a region that for most of the year is hot and very dry. Rather like that dubious story that Eskimos have 50 words for snow, so Brazilians have several terms for dried, salted meat. Happily, since those early days I have been enlightened. Before I got to Brazil I thought jerked beef was just beef jerky – dry, salty strips chewed by cowboys in the olden days. ![]() When the menu includes English translations this is often translated literally as ‘dry meat’ – I can’t imagine many people would pick that from the menu! A better translation that you also see used is ‘Jerked Beef’. One ingredient that you’ll find on almost every Brazilian restaurant menu is Carne seca. ![]() 2/19/2023 0 Comments Dollar rental car airport location![]() ![]() Bologna - Airport - Guglielmo Marconi (81.Pisa - Airport - Galileo Galilei (66.0KM).Dollar Locations Nearby Dollar also has 2 offices nearby, including: How to Contact Dollar at Florence Airport For more information please contact Dollar at Florence - Airport - Peretola on 055 307370. ![]() Don’t forget to remove your belongings from the vehicle before dropping it off.
